Privacy Policy

Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
When you log expenses, we store the amount, currency, title, date, and category you provide.
We may collect basic usage data (pages visited, actions taken) to improve the product. This data is anonymized and never sold.
How We Use Your Information
To provide and maintain the Pursly service, including expense tracking and AI categorization.
To send you product updates or account-related emails. You can opt out at any time.
To improve our AI models and categorization accuracy using anonymized, aggregated data.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in our database. We use HTTP-only cookies for session management — your session token is never accessible to JavaScript.
We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate Pursly (e.g., hosting, analytics). Each is bound by their own privacy policy.
We may use anonymized usage data with analytics tools to understand how the product is used. No personally identifiable information is shared.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email listed below.
Cookies
Pursly sets no cookies until you do something that needs one. Reading this page, or any other page on this site, stores nothing on your device.
Once you sign in, three cookies exist. That is the complete list:
__Secure-better-auth.session_token7 days- Keeps you signed in. HTTP-only, so no JavaScript running on the page can read it — including any that should not be there.
__Secure-better-auth.session_data5 minutes- A short-lived copy of your session, so a signed-in page does not have to ask the database who you are on every single request. It makes Pursly faster and holds nothing your session token does not.
pursly_sidebar_collapsed1 year- Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar. Written only if you actually collapse it, and deliberately readable by JavaScript, because that is how the page knows to draw it that way straight away.
There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and nothing here is sold or shared. We count page views with Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless — it stores no identifier on your device and cannot follow you to another site.
That is why Pursly shows no cookie banner. A banner asks permission to store things you did not ask for, and there is nothing here in that category to ask about.
Clearing cookies in your browser will sign you out and forget your sidebar preference. Nothing else is affected, and none of your financial data lives in a cookie.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
Continued use of Pursly after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
